Virtual
tours, flyers, Facebook. These are marketing
strategies that every Realtor discusses during listing
presentations. But what makes you stand out from the
competition? What do you have in your marketing
arsenal that others don’t? This is where QR codes come
in. By adding QR codes to your marketing materials you
are increasing the exposure your property gets by
utilizing an additional medium, the mobile world.
Not
only is today’s society mobile, it is very
self-service. Have you been to a Walgreens or Home
Deport lately? You will see five self-checkout lanes,
with one clerk supervising. We are finding that people
like to do things on their own schedule and, I’m sure
you have noticed the same goes for home searches.
Buyers will do their own search online before they
ever contact a Realtor, so why not give them the best
chance to see your property? Below are some examples
of how our customers are integrating QR codes into
their real estate marketing:
1) On ‘For Sale’ signs or riders
By
putting a code on a sign in front of the property your
buyers are basically prequalifying themselves. If you
link the QR code to a site with property images and a
description the potential buyers can decide if they
are interested in seeing the property, and will only
contact you if they really are.
Another
benefit of adding a QR code on a ‘For sale’ sign is
providing instant information. You don’t have to worry
about the interested buyer remembering the address,
remembering your name or phone number, and then
remembering to even go online later to look. Now they
can scan the code on the spot and receive the
information they are looking for before they even walk
away from the property.
2) On business cards
Real
estate is a business based on networking and
referrals, so Realtors hand out a lot of business
cards. You can have QR codes made that link to a
mobile profile site about you with all of your active
listings. By placing that code on your business card,
every time you meet someone you can hand them all of
your active listings. Or make a code that links to a
video introduction of you and your business. You will
make a real impression on someone by having an
interactive business card.
3) On property flyers or flyer boxes
Have
you ever run out of flyers at a property and had no
idea? How many missed opportunities were there during
that time? By placing a QR code on the flyer box
people can scan for the property information and you
don’t have to worry about rushing over to refill the
box.
The
same code can be placed on the flyers themselves. Most
agencies have flyers littering their windows with one
of two photos and a phone number. How many phone calls
or walk-ins do those flyers really generate? If a
person could scan the code from one of the flyers, see
more photos, share the listing with their spouse and
have the agent’s information saved on their phone,
they would be more likely to get a hold of them later.
Now is
the time to integrate QR codes into your real estate
marketing. The truth is you can put codes anywhere and
everywhere. Stay ahead of your competition with
state-of-the-art electronic marketing.
